Mr Hawazi Bin Daipi

Mr Hawazi Bin Daipi, appointed as the Chairman of our Advisory Board, is currently Singapore's Non-Resident Representative to the Palestinian Authority (PA) and Non-Resident High Commissioner to the Republic of Ghana.

On the social front, Mr Hawazi is Chairman of the National Council Against Drug Abuse.  Mr Hawazi also serves as a member of Lee Kuan Yew Bilingual Fund Board and the National Committee on Prevention, Rehabilitation and Recidivism. Mr Hawazi is also Advisor to Foreign Domestic Worker Association for Social Support and Training (FAST) and Advisor to Malay Youth Literary Association (4PM).

Mr Hawazi was elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Sembawang Group Representation Constituency for four times from December 1996 to August 2015. Mr Hawazi was appointed as Parliamentary Secretary and later, Senior Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministries of Education, Manpower and Health from 2001 to 2015. As an MP, Mr Hawazi had also served as Chairman of the Government Parliamentary Committee for Manpower (1999 to 2001). He was also Acting Vice-Chairman of the London-based Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (2001 to 2003).

Mr Hawazi had also served as Chairman of Sembawang Town Council from 2003 to 2015. His other working experiences included the following: Director of the International Affairs Department in the National Trades Union Congress (1997 to 2001), Executive Secretary of the Port of Singapore Authority Workers' Union (1997 to 2001) and Executive Secretary of the Singapore Manual and Mercantile Workers' Union (1997 to 2001).

Mr Hawazi graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics and Geography from the University of Singapore, and also obtained a Diploma in Education from the Institute of Education.
