Full-time / Part-time Cook

• East (Nearest MRT: Kallang, Bus: 853M, 67, 2, 13, 21, 26, 51, 62, 63, 80, 100, 158, 2A, 158A)

Essential Functions

• To source and purchase food items according to dietitian’s approved menu

• Prepare and cook all food items on menu according to dietitian’s approved menu.

• Reviews the day’s menus and assembles food, supplies and equipment for daily food preparation according to productions sheets.

• To plan menus and liaise with dietitian to approve menu.

• Preparation of resident meals and checking all items to ensure meal items meet prescribed individual resident needs as directed by nursing, dietician, and or physician.

• Assure that all necessary items are on site for the following day’s menu and all frozen items pulled and thawed according to assisted living regulations.

• Assists in serving meals. Serves food according to portion control.

• Follow safety and sanitation policies and procedures. This includes cleaning assignments as scheduled for cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment.

• Follow all sanitation policies and procedures for food storage preparation and transport.

• Unload and stock all sizes and weights of food items and supplies on shelves and in the freezers and refrigerators.

• Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information to ensure resident rights are protected.

• Maintains a liaison with other department supervisors to adequately plan for dietary services/activities.

• Performs other related assignments as required.

 

Experience

• Nursing home, hospital or assisted living experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum primary school education 

• Possess Certificate in Basic Food Hygiene

• Able to understand and read basic English

​

Rotating shifts work include weekends & PH, 6-day week, no fixed rest day (flexi hours can be arranged)
